Mohammad Sadegh Valipour is Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Semnan University. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Conversion field, from Sharif University of Technology in Iran. He followed his study as a visiting researcher at Nagoya University in Japan. He is ranked among the top 2% of the most cited and impactful world scientists in the 2020, 2021 citations impact database created by Stanford University’s John Ioannidis, in PLoS Biology. He is a member of ISME (Iranian Society for Mechanical Engineering) and ISES (International Solar Energy Society). He awarded the fellowship of the Third M.I.T. Conference on Computational Fluid and Solid Mechanics. His interesting research areas are SOLAR ENERGY (solar collectors, solar chimney), POROUS MEDIA (under ground water simulation, moving bed reactors, Bio porous media), ENERGY (modeling, optimization, and saving), WIND TUNNEL (Vertical and horizontal), REFRIGERATION and DRI (Direct Reduced Iron) Modelling. Dr. Maziar Dehghan received his BSc and MSc degrees from Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT), respectively in 2008 and 2011, and his PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2016 from Semnan University. His MSc thesis was about modeling of near-wall two-phase gas-particle flow in the turbulent regime. He analytically studied fluid flow and convection heat transfer phenomena through microchannels filled with porous media, especially in the slip-flow regime during his PhD thesis. He entered in Energy Department of Materials and Energy Research Center (MERC) as an Assistant Professor in 2017. Alongside his teaching and research activities, he also directed several executive positions such as director of Solar Energy Group, Director of Industrial Relations, and so on. He is now an Associate Professor in the Energy Department of MERC. His interests are convection heat transfer and techno-economic studies, and mainly works on solar heating, cooling and electricity, desalination, energy management, and energy storage systems and components.

Prof. Amit Agrawal joined the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay in 2004 after BTech from IIT Kanpur and PhD from University of Delaware, USA. He is currently an Institute Chair Professor and J.C. Bose National Fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Bombay. His research interests are in the Development of novel bio-microdevices, Micro-scale flows, Theoretical fluid mechanics, and Turbulent flows. He has graduated 39 PhD students, 62 Masters, and mentored 13 postdocs on these and related topics. He has published more than 290 journal articles and has a dozen granted patents with his students. Prof. Agrawal’s primary contributions are in the development of a unique blood plasma separation microdevice and derivation of equations which are more general than the Navier-Stokes equations. A technique for processing data in turbulent flows is sometimes referred to as Agrawal Decomposition.  His insights and novel results on transmission of COVID-19 are documented as 8 Featured Articles in the prestigious journal Physics of Fluids. He has authored a well-received book entitled Microscale Flow and Heat Transfer: Mathematical Modelling and Flow Physics. The work from his lab has appeared on the cover page of prestigious journals such as Journal of Fluid Mechanics and Physics of Fluids. He further serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Transactions of Indian National Academy of Engineering, and as an Editor of ASME Journal of Heat Transfer, among others. He is an elected Fellow of all the National Engineering and Science Academies of the country. He has been awarded the country’s highest scientific honor – the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for his seminal contributions.

Nader Karimi completed his bachelor's and master's degrees in mechanical engineering at AmirKabir University of Technology and Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, Iran. He was awarded a PhD in 2009 from the University of Melbourne in Australia for my experimental and theoretical work on unsteady combusting flows. Between 2009 and 2011, he served as a Marie Curie post-doctoral researcher at Darmstadt University of Technology in Germany. R. Vasant Kumar is Professor and the Head of Materials Chemistry Group in University of Cambridge. Alina Adriana Minea is full professor at Technical University Gheorghe Asachi from Iasi, Romania and Director of Doctoral School in Materials Engineering and has published over 120 articles (45 of which are in international peer-reviewed journals) and authored or coauthored 17 books, most of them in the field of heat transfer. Nouri-Borujerdi is a highly accomplished professor of Mechanical Engineering at Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, Iran. Mohammad Sadegh Valipour is Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Semnan University. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Conversion field, from Sharif University of Technology in Iran. He followed his study as a visiting researcher at Nagoya University in Japan. He is ranked among the top 2% of the most cited and impactful world scientists in the 2020, 2021 citations impact database created by Stanford University’s John Ioannidis, in PLoS Biology. He is a member of ISME (Iranian Society for Mechanical Engineering) and ISES (International Solar Energy Society). He awarded the fellowship of the Third M.I.T. Conference on Computational Fluid and Solid Mechanics. His interesting research areas are SOLAR ENERGY (solar collectors, solar chimney), POROUS MEDIA (under ground water simulation, moving bed reactors, Bio porous media), ENERGY (modeling, optimization, and saving), WIND TUNNEL (Vertical and horizontal), REFRIGERATION and DRI (Direct Reduced Iron) Modelling. Sharifah Rafidah Wan Alwi is a Fellow and R&D Manager of Process Systems Engineering Centre (UTM-PROSPECT), and Professor in Faculty of Chemical and Energy Engineering in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).  She previously helmed as the Director of UTM-PROSPECT for ten years (2011 to 2021).  She is an expert resource minimisation consultant for multiple industries and is among the leading researchers in resource integration technique development. Prof Sharifah is the co-founder and Director of Optimal Systems Engineering Sdn Bhd, a UTM Spin-off company. She has been extensively involved in 10 commercialised products, 80 research projects, 17 industrial based projects and has trained engineers from more than 300 companies in the field of sustainable engineering design and management.  Sharifah has won more than 50 international and national awards such as ASEAN Young Scientist and Technologist Award 2014, National Young Scientist Award 2015, ASEAN-US Science Prize for Women 2016, Malaysia Research Star Award 2016, 2018, 2019, Top Research Scientists Malaysia 2018, ‘8 Women Scientists from Asia You Should Know’ in 2021 by AsianScientist.com and World Top 2% Scientist 2022 (Single Year and Career Long).  Sharifah is also the Associate Editor for Journal of Cleaner Production and UTM Sustainable Energy Management System advisor. Renato M. Cotta was born in Niterói, Brazil, on March 5th, 1960. Peixue Jiang is a professor and Dean of Department of Energy and Power Engineering, Dean of School of Mechanical Engineering, Tsinghua University, China, academician of CAS.He has been engaged in the research of heat and mass transfer under extreme conditions in the field of energy and power engineering. Based on the characteristics of the micro/nano structure, high temperature and high pressure, strong variation of physical properties, extremely high heat flux and hypersonic speed in the field of low-carbon energy and aerospace power system, the theory of heat and mass transfer under extreme conditions is enriched and developed, the enhanced heat transfer method of micro/nano structure and the prediction method of supercritical fluid heat and mass transfer are proposed, the key technologies of thermal protection for high-temperature surfaces are developed, and systematic innovative achievements are obtained. The research results are applied in the fields of renewable energy, aerospace, CO2 utilization and geological storage. Sadik Kakaç is an Emeritus professor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Miami in Florida. He served as a Chairman of the department from 1990 to 1998.In 1955, he received the Dipl.-Ing. in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Istanbul and then received his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1959 and his M.S. in Nuclear Engineering in 1960, both from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 1965, he received his Ph.D. in the field of heat transfer from the Victoria University of Manchester, UK. He is a fellow of the ASME, a member of the Turkish Academy of sciences and foreign member of the Bashkortostan Academy of Sciences of the Russian Federation. Dr. Kakaç has focused his research efforts on steady-state and transient forced convection in single-phase and on two-phase flow instabilities in flow boiling, microscale/nanofluid heat transfer and fuel-cells. He is the author or co-author of six heat transfer text books and more than 200 research papers, as well as fifteen edited volumes in the field of thermal sciences, including the Handbook of Single-Phase Convective Heat Transfer. Dr. Kakaç is in the editorial board of the various International Journals and he is a member of the Scientific Council and the Executive Committee of the International Center for Heat and Mass Transfer. Yury F. Maydanik was born on January 20, 1946 in Sverdlovsk (the USSR). In 1972, he graduated from the Faculty of Physics and Technology of the Ural Polytechnic Institute and received a diploma in engineering physics. From 1973 to 1976, he studied at the postgraduate school at the same institute. In 1977, he defended his PhD thesis in Theoretical Thermal Engineering. In 1979, he went to work at the Institute of Thermal Physics of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences as a senior researcher. From 1988 to the present, he is the head of the laboratory of heat transfer devices. In 1993 at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute, he defended his doctoral dissertation with a degree in Thermal Physics and Molecular Physics. He is the author and co-author of 308 scientific publications including 67 patents for inventions in the field of two-phase heat-transfer devices and thermal control systems. His h-index is 25, citation index is 19,26, the most cited publication has 992 citations. In 1999, he was awarded the State Prize of the Russian Federation for achievements in the field of science and technology. Since 1997, he has been a member of the International Heat Pipe Conference Committee. He chaired this committee from 2004 to 2016. He is a member of the National Committee on Heat and Mass Transfer of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In 2018, he was awarded the George Grover Medal for outstanding achievements in heat pipe science and technology.

Arun S. Mujumdar obtained his first degree in chemical engineering from the University Department of Chemical Technology (UDCT), Mumbai, India in 1965. He then went on to obtain his M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees from McGill University. Akira Nakayama is Professor Emeritus of Mechanical Engineering, Shizuoka University, Japan. He received his PhD in 1981 from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He joined the faculty of Shizuoka University as an associate professor in 1982 and was promoted to professor in 1994. He has also been appointed Chutian Professor of School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Wuhan Polytechnic University, China since 2008. His research activity covers various areas such as free convection, forced convection, turbulence modeling, bioheat transfer and heat and mass transfer in porous media. Petros Pilavachi is Professor Emeritus at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Western Macedonia. He obtained an MSc in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens as well as an MSc, two DIC and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College of the University of London. He was awarded the Rudolf Lessing Medal for his PhD at Imperial College. He started his career at the multinational company Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI), in Brussels. Then, he was appointed as a senior official at the European Commission -Directorate General for Research. Simultaneously he was teaching at the Faculty of Engineering of the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB). He was a Founding Member of the Board of Directors of the Center for Renewable Energy Sources in Athens. He returned to Greece where he was elected Professor, first at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and then appointed at the University of Western Macedonia. He served as Deputy Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering as well as Founder and Director of the Laboratory “Energy Systems Management and Energy Policy”. Rees went after a diploma in violin performance in 1977 from the Trinity College of Music, London, to obtain a first-class honors degree in Mathematics at Imperial College in 1980 and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics at Bristol University in 1986. Imre Miklós Szilágyi is an associate professor at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), Department and Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry. Bengt Sunden received his M.Sc. in 1973, Ph.D. in 1979 and became Docent in 1980, all from Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden. He was appointed Professor of Heat Transfer at Lund University, Lund, Sweden in 1992 and served as Head of the Department of Energy Sciences, Lund University for 21 years, 1995–2016. He has served as Professor Emeritus and Senior Professor since 2016. The research activities mainly include various heat transfer enhancement techniques, gas turbine heat transfer, computational modeling and analysis of multiphysics and multiscale transport phenomena for fuel cells, nano-and microscale heat transfer, boiling and condensation, aerospace heat transfer, thermal management of batteries. He has supervised 51 PhD. students and many postdocs as well hosted many visiting scholars and Ph.D. students. He serves as Guest or Honorary Professor of several prestigious universities. He is a Fellow of ASME, a regional editor for Journal of Enhanced Heat Transfer since 2007, an associate editor of Heat Transfer Research since 2011, ASME J. Thermal Science, Engineering and Applications in 2010–2016 and ASME J. Electrochemical Energy Conversion and Storage 2017–2023. He was a recipient of the ASME Heat Transfer Memorial Award 2011 and Donald Q. Kern Award 2016. He received the ASME HTD 75th Anniversary Medal 2013. He has edited 30+ books and authored three major textbooks. He has published more than 500 papers in well-established and highly ranked journals. The h-index is 49 and the number of citations is more than 12000.

Gretar Tryggvason is the Charles A. Miller, Jr. Distinguished Professor at the Johns Hopkins University and the head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He received his PhD from Brown University in 1985 and was on the faculty of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor until 2000, when he moved to Worcester Polytechnic Institute as the head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Between 2010 and 2017 he was the Viola D. Hank professor at the University of Notre Dame and the chair of the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. Professor Tryggvason is well known for his contributions to computational fluid dynamics; particularly the development of methods for computations of multiphase flows and for pioneering direct numerical simulations of such flows. He served as the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Computational Physics 2002-2015, is a fellow of APS, ASME and AAAS, and the recipient of several awards, including the 2012 ASME Fluids Engineering Award and the 2019 ASTFE Award.

Kuppalapalle Vajravelu has obtained Ph. D. degree in Applied Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India. He is a professor at the University of Central Florida, Orlando, Florida, USA. He has been actively engaged in research in the field of Fluid Mechanics, Heat and Mass Transfer, and Mathematical Modeling and Simulation for the past forty-seven years. Several students did Undergraduate Research with him and got NSF fellowships to do Ph. D. Furthermore, he supervised M. S., Ph. D. students, and published several (four hundred plus) research articles and Books (five) on Differential Equations and their Applications. Also, he reviewed papers for reputed national and international journals. Furthermore, Professor Vajravelu is a Fellow of the Andhra Pradesh Academy of Sciences, for sustained research and his research contributions to Science and Engineering.

Chun Yang is a Full Professor in the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He received his Ph.D, Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from University of Alberta, University of Science and Technology of China, and Tsinghua University, respectively. From 1996 to 1999, he was researcher in NSERC – Oil Sands Industrial Chair Program at  Syncrude Canada Ltd. - Edmonton Research Centre. He has carried out extensive experimental, theoretical and numerical studies of micro- and nano-scale thermofluid transport with emphasis on interfacial effects. Dr. Yang has published more than 250 journal papers, delivered some 30 invited, keynote and plenary talks and is associated with more than 180 conference paper and poster presentations. His Google citations are more than 16,000 and H-index of 59. He is an elected Fellow of American Society of Mechanical Engineers and was awarded Chang Jiang Scholar Chair Professor, Ministry of Education of China. He has serviced as Editor/Associate Editor/Guest Editor and also sits on the Editorial/Advisory Boards of several journals such as International Communications on Heat and Mass Transfer (Elsevier), ASME Open Journal of Engineering, Microfluidics and Nanofluidics (Springer-Verlag Publishers), Electrophoresis (Wiley) etc.

Kyung Chun Kim received his BA degree at Pusan National University, Korea in 1979. He received MS and PhD degrees at KAIST, Korea in 1981 and 1987 respectively. Since 1983, he was hired as a faculty member in Pusan National University (PNU), Korea. He was invited as a visiting professor from Ottawa University in Canada for 1989–1990. He joined at the department of theoretical and applied mechanics in University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, USA as an invited professor for 1996–1997. Prof Kim was selected as a PNU Distinguished Professor in 2018. During 37 years at PNU, he has published about 640 refereed journal papers in Domestic and International Journals and supervised 206 MS and PhD students. His-research interests include Fuel Cell, Two-Phase Flows, Flow Visualization, PIV, LIF, PSP, TSP, CFD, Heat Transfer, Thermal System Simulation and Optimization, Multi-scale Multi-Physics Analysis and Measurement Techniques, and Artificial Intelligence.

Professor Pinar Mert Cuce has 20 years of experience in teaching, research and management. She received her PhD from the University of Nottingham on sustainable building technologies. She has worked on several scientific projects in the scope funded by notably EU, TSB, DECC, EPSRC, BRITISH COUNCIL, TUBITAK and international based commercial companies. Her main interest areas of research are low/zero carbon technologies for buildings, innovative heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, solar thermal and hybrid PV/T systems, thermal superinsulation materials, nano coating and nano paint solutions, etc. Currently, She is the author or co-author of over 200 scientific papers notably in high-impact SCI journals and prestigious international conference proceedings. She is currently interested in Nanotechnology in the Built Environment.
